This is my graduation thesis for my bachelor’s degree in Computer Music (Science and Technology of Musical Communication), a program delivered by the University of Milan. The document describes the research and development of AMuSE (Automatic Music Summary Extraction), a prototype application used to create musical summaries out of a given musical audio file. A revised version of this project was presented as an academic publishing at CCNC’2012 DENVECT Workshop in Las Vegas, NV in January 2012. The work was conducted during a five month internship at STMicroelectronics in Agrate Brianza, Italy.
